Screen Assemblies With Frame or Without: What You Get and When Each Makes Sense
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 5G inner display appears several times in the Samsung Z Series category: GH82-35013E/35014E is the Black Inner display with its frame, GH82-35022A is the same panel without a frame and without a colour, and the Assembled and Renewed versions sit beside them. The Galaxy S25 FE 5G repeats the pattern with GH82-38431A (Black Jet, with frame) and GH82-38423A (no Frame). Which one a repair shop should stock depends on the condition of the customer’s device, the skill on the bench and how many colour variants you want on the shelf. This guide sets out what each version contains, what the fitting involves and where the risks sit.
What a with-frame assembly includes
A with-frame service pack is the display panel, glass and digitiser already laminated into the phone’s middle frame (chassis). On Samsung packs the display is bonded to the frame in the factory, the protective film is on the glass and the part arrives in the sealed manufacturer box with the GH82, GH97 or GH81 label. What else is in the box varies by pack. The main board, battery, cameras, charging board and loudspeaker normally transfer from the customer’s phone; smaller frame-mounted items such as side keys may or may not be pre-fitted, so ask sales when it matters for a job. The listing name states the exceptions: + Btry or Battery marks a pack that includes the battery, as in GH82-13388A (Galaxy S7 Edge, Black, Screen + Touch + Battery) or GH82-24716A/24718A (Galaxy S21 5G, Phantom Gray, with camera, + BTRY), and battery packs are not limited to older models. Foldable inner displays exist with and without the front camera: GH82-23414A/23351A/27356A (Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Mystic Gray, with Camera) and GH82-27359A (no Camera).
The frame also fixes hardware details that vary within one model. The Galaxy A01 has GH81-18209A with a small connector and GH81-18597A with a big connector; the Galaxy A14 5G GH82-30658A is a big-connector part. With the frame you accept the connector that comes with it, so the device’s model code must match the listing.
What a without-frame panel includes
A no-frame part is the display panel with its glass, digitiser and flex, and nothing else. The technician keeps the customer’s original frame, removes the broken panel from it, cleans the old adhesive out of the frame rebate and bonds the new panel into position. Samsung files many no-frame panels under GH96, others under GH82: GH96-13030A for the Galaxy S20 Plus 4G/5G, GH96-14303A for the Galaxy A52 4G/5G, GH96-15077C for the Galaxy A13 4G, and on the GH82 side GH82-36327A for the Galaxy S25 5G and GH82-36356A for the Galaxy S25 Plus 5G. Because the frame is where the colour lives, a frameless SKU is listed without a colour. Adhesive for re-bonding and alignment moulds are workshop consumables and are not part of a no-frame kit unless the listing says otherwise.
When each version is the right order
Order with frame when
- the frame is bent, cracked at a corner or the camera bracket is deformed, which is common after a drop onto a hard edge;
- the device has curved edges or an under-display fingerprint sensor, where panel alignment tolerances are tight;
- the job is a warranty-grade or insurance repair where a sealed manufacturer pack is expected;
- turnaround matters most and you want a parts-transfer job rather than a lamination job.
Order without frame when
- the frame is straight, the corners are intact and the customer wants to keep the original housing;
- you repair many units of one model in several colours and prefer to stock one colour-neutral panel;
- your workshop has the heating plate, separation tools, alignment mould and clean work area that panel replacement needs.
Labour: transfer versus lamination
A with-frame repair is a transplant. The technician strips the old frame, moves every internal component into the new one, reseals the back cover and tests. It involves more steps than a panel swap, yet each step is low-risk and needs only standard tools; a trained technician can do it on a Galaxy A series without specialised equipment. A no-frame repair is a lamination job. Heating the old panel, lifting it without cracking it across the frame rebate, cleaning residue, positioning the new panel to a fraction of a millimetre and curing the adhesive demands more skill and more bench time per unit, and the risk of damaging the new part is concentrated in those minutes.
Risks of frameless fitting
- A flexible OLED cracks silently if it is bent over the frame edge during positioning; a hairline fracture shows up as lines or a dead strip after power-on.
- Residual adhesive or dust in the frame rebate lifts the panel at one corner, giving an uneven gap and touch dead zones along that edge.
- Under-display fingerprint sensors on Galaxy S and A5x models need exact alignment; a misaligned panel enrols and reads fingerprints poorly.
- Factory water resistance depends on the frame bond; a hand-applied bond rarely reproduces it.
- Damage that occurs during installation is not a dead-on-arrival fault. Check the product returns page before bonding, and test the panel on the board first.

How to order the right version
Give our sales team the model code (SM-F741, not just “Z Flip 6”), the colour of the customer’s frame, and the words “with frame” or “no frame”. If you run both approaches, say which lines you want in each version and in what quantity; the Vienna warehouse holds both versions for many current Samsung models, wherever Samsung issues a separate no-frame number, and sales confirms availability per model. The part number guide explains how GH82 and GH96 numbers relate, and the quality tiers guide covers the ASMBLD option, an original panel already assembled into a frame outside the manufacturer’s service-pack line. Your list goes to sales via the contact page, and the quote comes back per line.
